Let’s talk about three strategies in multiplayer first person shooter gaming. Most players prefer and play by one of these strategies, and the mix of players using all these different strategies when playing is what keeps game dynamics like they are. The three strategies are rushing, camping, and tactical (that’s what we’ll call it, for lack of a better name). Before we get into the specifics, remember that we need all of these players to make gameplay fun. Imagine what would happen if we all camped or rushed; we can’t even imaging all of us being tactical players because that’s not possible without the others).
Rushing
We all probably appreciate these players the most. These are the people who run out first to kill or weaken as many enemies as possible. Rushers don’t usually live until the end of the round, so some of them go on suicide missions. The greatest advantage to rushing is that you know exactly where your enemy will be when you get to your spot. (For example, you’ll know that if you run when the round starts you can make it to the bridge by the time the enemy is on the other side). Rushers will usually encounter a group of enemies, so they usually use heavy firepower. The most important element to a successful rush is time. You must be able to get to your destination as fast as possible; that means you need to run with the lightest weapons and take the quickest route. When most rushing games get to their destination, they either use explosives to weaken their enemies or they use weapons with high rates of fire to spray bullets into the enemies. Outcomes vary by gems, but these players will leave enemies weak and easy to kill.
Tactical
Tactical players are those between rushers and campers, because these are the players who usually get the most kills. After rushing players have weakened the enemies, the tactical players slowly advance on the enemies. The drawback to these players is that, unlike rushers and campers, they don’t know where their enemy will be. These players usually battle one-on-one with eachother. The most important part here is choosing a balanced weapon. You probably don’t want a weapon with a slow fire rate and high accuracy (sniper) or a weapon with right recoil and fire rate (the type rushers use). An assult rifle is perfect for most tactical players.
Campers
Camping players are usually the least appreciated. These are the players who will hide or take cover in a spot and wait for others to approach. Campers have a high kill rate because they have the element of surprise on their side. These players also know exactly where the enemy will be when they fire their weapons. This is why these players can use extremely high damage weapons. The most important parts of camping are being patient and being able to react fast when you see an enemy.

I personally hate campers :p. I vary between rushing and being tactical. When the game starts I usually rush, especially in MW2 to get the first kill award. I usually end up with 10-1 though. I never considered changing my gun though for the start of the game and then a different gun when I'm in tactical mode. Might have to change my classes
