Understanding Website Branding

by Techie

Branding is a marketing and advertising strategy which focuses less on gaining immediate visitors and more on long-term visitor loyalty. It all starts with taking a brand, such as a logo, a name, or even a phrase, and getting users to recognize it. The theory is that if someone recognizes your brand, they’ll automatically think of you and come to you the next time they need your service.

Let’s take a look at an example of a website which has used marketing successfully. When many people think of hotels and vacations, they also think of Expedia. With all of Expedia’s commercials, people know the brand and they trust the company to book their vacations. Just think about it, would you rather buy from a website you’ve heard of or a website you don’t know?

The whole point of branding is to get your brand shown to as many people as possible. For advertising purposes, this means purchasing extremely cheap impressions. (Just don’t sacrifice the quality of your impressions. It’s always best to target an interested audience). Website branding works best for larger businesses.
