I want my laptop to connect to any open network

I want my laptop to connect to the strongest wireless network it can reach when it's not close to any preferred networks, and I want it to connect even if it just boots without a sign in. How can I do this?

Megaupload was seized by the federal government

So... the owner of Megaupload.com was arrested today and the website was shut down permanently by the federal government because more than $500 million pirated softwares/videos were link on that site.
What do you think about this action?
What is the point of stopping SOPA if they can already do this? SOPA or not, the federal government will always seem to find loop hole around it.
Million of users that uses Megaupload and Megavideo say that this action was unfair.
As stated on Rapidshare, Megaupload, Mediafire, and other file hosting service, they are not responsible what type of files that are uploaded onto their service because it is impossible to know what type of files are which. Some files can have different names which are impossible to track down. Megaupload seem to have the most illegal files so the federal government decided to shut it down and arrest the owner.
Was this a justify action?

Why is the federal government so concern about torrent/illegal sharing softwares? Lets face it... (not that I'm saying I am torrenting), torrent actually helps a lot of people. It can help students get software such as Adobe Photoshop and learn for free. I'm sure in the future when they can get a job, they will pay for the legit version.
I'm also pretty sure there are lot more crimes out there beside sharing illegal files... such as inside the federal government iteself where politicians are stealing millions of dollars from people.

The government is so corrupted... even people that are running for president... if they have money, they can run. In the government... it's not run by the average people of the United State, it is run by the most corrupted greed rich people that just wants more power.

New Website

Thus far, I've been decently successful at running an article-based website. People come, learn, and leave (and a few click ads).

However, I haven't been able to reach my goal of running a great community, because as as much as I hate to say it, w3techie isn't really a community like I wish it was. I feel like this is because the focus is so widely spread out that the site doesn't appeal to people browsing in one specific niche.

For this reason, I've decided to start a new forum, which will be 100% dedicated to website management. Topics will spam from starting off from nothing to monetizing a finished product, but the entire site will remain focused for webmasters.

I started on this several days ago and it has reached a point where it's a fuly functinoal forum with great sections and a nice logo, but I'm not ready to launch it yet (and it's still locked so I'm the only one who can see it). I want to modify this as heavilly as I need to to make it perfect, and as part of that process I want to start a small private beta for the community. The plan is to open the site to the public fully finished (unlike the way in which 90% of new forums open). I want to blow people's minds on their first impression.

I'd like some experienced webmasters on my staff team. This is a fully voluntary position But I'm sure there are benefits to being one of the first people on a site which will quickly grow into an active community.

(I can assure you that I'm doing my best to make sure this site succeeds. I'm pouring my time and resources into it to get everything right, and we won't cut corners before opening publicly.)

If anyone knows of any successful webmasters that might want to help, you can ask them to email me at techie(@)w3techie.com with a small CV, just because I want to make sure the people I put on my team are cometent and experienced.

PS: Don't worry, w3techie isn't closing! It'll stay strong; it's the funding source behind this new site, and only w3techie will have a blog! The two sites will work side-by-side.

PayPal.Com Scammers

Hello and welcome to my thread you guys. Today i would like to help you guys out and to let you guys know "DON'T GO NEAR PAYPAL" They will scam you and all of TOA's bullshit and rubbish. They advertise that they are the safest way to sell or buy stuff online. That's a lie, they don't care about the disputes that the members open. They don't care if you are scammed. There staff members are useless they have like a 0/10 rating.

This is one of the disputes i had against another user i bought a supply of (45) 50$ US PSN Cards and i did not get those cards. And what he did was on the very last day when the dispute was going to end he put up a tracking number for a package that he shipped out to California where i lived. And so people instantly said he provided a tracking number that the dispute will end and will not be in my favor of a refund. And i contacted several times notifying them that he did not ship the package to me but someone else. And even on the ems-tracking.net it showed who the package was signed by. And i sent several emails to them saying i did get the package and he shipped it to someone else. All they responded with as "We see that you have filed a dispute against this transaction already and it did not end in your favor and the dispute will not be reopened"
So right there i was just scammed out of 1148$. I was very pissed off right then.

Then a the very same day at midnight they threw a limitation on to my Paypal account giving me no reason why i received the limitation in the email. I have contacted them several times and the reply is the same saying

1.You provided information that we believe was false, inaccurate, or
misleading; or

2.You sent or received money that was potentially related to fraudulent
activity; or

3. You have more than one account with a negative balance; or

4.You are in violation of the User Agreement, the Commercial Entity
Agreement, the Acceptable Use Policy, or another agreement you have with
PayPal.

I have read through all of there agreements and policies and i have not broken a single agreement.

I am not the only person that has been screwed over by them, there is tons of people that were scammed or had thousands of dollars in there paypal account and just for paypal to put a limitation on our money with out a really good reason. Is complete bullshit and we shouldn't take this crap, if they can't give us a good reason.

Related/Other Post Widget?

Monitor is not displaying with dvi but it does with vga

The problem Im having is that suddenly the monitor does not want to display with dvi, even though the monitor is detected. So after not being able to figure out what was the problem I bought a new lcd controller. It worked fine. However, a few days ago the same thing happen to this one. Its not the monitor because if i connect it to my laptop through vga it works fine. I tried switching cables, power supply, but nothing seems to work. I not sure if the controller is being insulated right or who knows what.

Also it cant be the gpu because I have a hd radeon 5750 and a firepro v5900 and it does not display in any.

The only difference I do that the how to video does not is at 1:26, after the controller and everything is installed, I close the square cut out with the actual cut out if that makes any sense. So instead of being open its closed. Then at 1:28 I do add the foil paper. The thing Im wondering is maybe the controller is not getting insulated because I close the hole so there is no contact with the foil paper to insulate it. What im thinking is that due to this it both of the controllers may have overheated. Im not sure whats really wrong here but it is a big disappointing because I love drawing on my DIY cintiq. If anyone out there have any answers please help me! It would be appreciated!

Bloatware on Computers

I just want to vent my frustration with Windows computers that you buy pre-built. It bothers me that companies put so much crapware on your computer It's a disgrace to me as a customer that they see me as nothing. It's not enough that they make however much they do from each customer, but then they need to go ahead and show me ads after that. It shows that all they care about is their money and not the customer satisfaction.

Companies, THIS is the reason why Apple is more successful with their products! You power on a MacBook and it's running at full speed with no bloat. I turn on a Windows computer and it takes forever for all this crap to load, and then it takes me forever to delete it.

To add to this, Android manufacturers have been doing this too, with their Telenav trials and stuff. Yet when I buy an iPod or iPhone from Apple, it's completely clean.

I'm frustrated.
